The Chargers have been the team to beat the last seven years in the AFC West.  Winning the division has seemed to go through San Diego, so for Denver, it only feels right to have faith in the man ( Tim Tebow ) that is 5-1 as a starter and is a faithful man himself.  Besides, God is a football fan to.

It took 60 minutes of play and a little extra in overtime to decide a winner in yesterday’s game at Qualcomm Stadium on a hot and dry day. The Chargers had the chance to win in OT as all Tebow could do was kneel and pray. “Obviously, I want to win,” Tebow said when asked about the intentions of his prayer. “But no matter what happens, good or bad, I want to have an opportunity to give my lord and savior credit for whatever.”

Novak did indeed miss the field goal for the Chargers, and Tim Tebow moved the Broncos down the field to set up Matt Prater’s 37-yard field goal with 29 seconds left in overtime to win 16-13.  The win has put Denver (6-5) within a game of the first-place Raiders (7-4) and two ahead of K.C. and S.D. in the AFC West division race. The Chargers, meanwhile, fell to 4-7 by losing their sixth in a row and are seemingly all but eliminated from postseason contention.

Against the Chargers, Tebow accounted for 210 total yards with 143 yards passing and 67 yards rushing, on the other side of the ball, Phillip Rivers accounted for 189 total yards with 188 yards passing and 1 yard rushing. “He’s a great quarterback,” Tebow said of Rivers, “And a great guy. We have the same agent, so we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well.”

Before the game, Tim Tebow gathered all of the Bronco’s players for a little pep-talk.  Well actually, it may have been more of a scripture reading,   ”As iron sharpens iron, men sharpen men,” Tebow told the group, roughly quoting Proverbs 27:17. “What he said really stuck with me,” said Miller as he walked toward the team bus. “Just having that guy around, it makes us better men. I think he plays for us, and he makes us want to play for him.”  For what it’s worth, rookie linebacker Von Miller, has 10.5 sacks and is among the biggest reasons for the Broncos recent success.

It’s funny where and how players get inspiration.  Faith in a player, let-alone your QB comes with time. Time that Tim Tebow has plenty of.
