It’s that time of year again when the goblins and ghouls come out.  But you don’t have to be scared this Halloween season if you follow these simple safety tips.

  • Don’t go out alone.  Groups are best, but if you don’t have a group, use the buddy system.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather.  If it’s cold out, wear long sleeves under your costume.  If it’s warm, come up with cooler clothing that coincides with your costume.
  • If trick or treating, wear reflective clothing.
  • Don’t wear anything that obscures your vision.
  • Make sure you don’t have stray pieces of clothing hanging.  This could get caught in something and be a disaster.
  • Always look both ways before crossing the street.  This may seem like common sense, but you would not believe how many kids and adults forget this on Halloween night.
  • Do not go into a home that you don’t know.
  • Don’t eat homemade baked goods unless they come from a trusted source.
  • Don’t eat anything without checking it first.

Most importantly enjoy Halloween! Trick or Treat!
