Snow for Halloween weekend? Yes you better believe it! For me it’s perfect, I prayed that there would be snow for Halloween weekend. Why? Well it’s also my birthday so snow for Halloween weekend means I am snowboarding in October!
Currently I am typing away on my iPhone because in fact my friend and I are stuck in Brattleboro, Vermont. The snow for Halloween weekend was anticipated, however no one realized it would be this severe.
Last week a snow storm hit Denver and its surrounding suburbs in Colorado. Results? Snow for Halloween weekend, as well as power outages, stores closed, roads shutting down and transportation at the Denver International Airport delayed.
When I wished that there would be snow this Halloween weekend here on the east coast, I was shocked when I heard last Tuesday it may actually happen. Saturday saw both Killington and Mount Snow open for some snowboarding shred sessions and skiing pleasure.
On Thursday upstate New York began getting a few flurries and by the end of the evening there was news of a winter storm warning for upper New York, Vermont and parts of New England.
For people like me snow for Halloween weekend meant heading up to Mount Snow for a quick rail jam. After all I had asked for it for my birthday. Route 91 in Vermont from Killington until Brattleboro is covered in about five inches of snow as of 530 pm on Saturday. NYC is expecting 7-10 inches and Long Island is going to have a wintery wet mix.
plows are out and in force here in Vermont against the snow for Halloween weekend however it does not look like it will be letting up anytime soon. Stay tuned for more as the storm goes on. With snow for Halloween weekend, Monday may be trick or freezing!
