The Beatles True Story Why The Beatles Split Up

The Beatles, from their legendary music to their international stardom, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have had quite the run even after calling it quits in 1970.  But why did they call it quits?

“I have never seen anything like it. Nor heard any noise to approximate the ceaseless, frantic, hysterical scream which met the Beatles when they took the stage after what seemed a hundred years of earlier acts. All very good, all marking time, because no one had come for anything other than the Beatles…”-Derek Taylor from www.Beatles.com

John Lennon, the so called “smart Beatle” is known on his website as having artistic immortality, having brought a penetrating intelligence and a stinging wit to both the Beatle’s music and presentation.  Despite being known for his peaceful lyrics and tranquil nature, Lennon was murdered on December 8th 1980.

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one,” he sang in “Imagine,” which has become his best-known song and an international anthem of peace. “I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.”-John Lennon website

Paul McCartney is speaking up however, saying that John Lennon was responsible for the Beatles spilt in 1970 after their hit recording Let It Be, playing their final concert on January 30th, 1969 in London atop the Apple Records headquarters.

According to BeatCrave.com McCartney claims that him, George [Harrison] and Ringo [Starr] said ‘Does this have to be final, could we do a couple of gigs or can we think about this tomorrow?’, but John was off with Yoko and he was saying ‘No, no, it’s great, I feel a release’ and all that.”

Funny how Paul McCartney is coming out with this now, with his Beatles LOVE Cirque Du Soleil performance and two shows at Yankee Stadium this summer in New York.  Unfortunately John Lennon is not alive to defend his outlook on why he ended the Beatles, although I am sure we will be hearing from Yoko Ono soon.
