Weight Loss Management

Weight gain can occur due to many different reasons.  Diet plans, fat loss, diet foods, these are all terms everyone is familiar with at one point in their lives.  Are you battling weight gain yourself?  Perhaps you just had a newborn and are having trouble getting back into your daily routine.  Or what if you know someone that was once a successful athlete and no longer is able to devote 3-4 hours a day to vigorous physical activity?  Sure weight gain can occur from many different scenarios, but what about those who want to know how to lose weight the proper way without fasting and crash diets?

Get ready for summer before summer gets you!

Weight loss management seems to come in many different forms.  Remember all the diet plans like Atkins, South Beach, Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers?  Sure they all have their success stories, but if your like me, perhaps you have an ailment that does not allow you the luxury of participating on one of these diet plans.

As a former college athlete, I find myself asking how to lose weight in a healthy manner.  Commuting into the city four hours a day, (there and back) I find it extremely hard to find a good diet plan to stick to.  Weight gain has been an issue for me since I left high school.  My weight has fluctuated over the past few years, my max was 175 in 2003 and in 2006 healthy eating, a good vitamin regiment and exercise bought me down to 120.  Now I weigh anywhere from 130-135.  I am adjusting to living with inflammatory bowel disease, but trust me I have tried a wide variety of ways for weight loss management idea possible.

Stress and weight gain seem to go hand in hand for many people, especially look at college.  Sure they say the freshman fifteen is from partying but what about the stress of being away from home?  Performing well enough that mom and dad let you go back another year?  Break up with your long term boyfriend or girlfriend? Stress comes in many different forms, and more often than not many of us turn to eating as an emotional outlet.  The Mayoclinic.com did an entire piece on Stress and Weight Gain.

Do you have a problem with fluid retention?  Weight gain aka water weight?  Medicine.net wrote a small paragraph that I came across in my studies that I found extremely interesting.

Weight gain can result from an increase in body fluid, muscle mass, or fat. An increase in body fluid can come from medications, fluid and salt retention, intravenous fluid infusion, kidney or heart failure. An increase in muscle mass is commonly seen with exercising. An increase in body fat is commonly seen as a result of diet or lack of exercise as the body converts muscle to fat. An excessive weight gain is referred to as obesity. Obesity is a function of environmental (diet, exercise, lifestyle, etc.), hormonal, and inherited (genetic) factors in varying degrees. Weight gain is a normal part of pregnancy. (Medicine.net)

Vitamins and supplements help

It seems that these days child obesity is a growing concern here in the United States as well. Kids more often than not stay in, play video games or sit in front of the television/computer for hours on end.  When I was younger I was outside playing manhunt or cops and robbers with the local kids, enrolled in little league and actively participating in club athletics. Naturally I still find myself keeping busy and submersing myself in a career that I stay active within.  My mom always tried to get me to take kids vitamins, but I was not having it.  If your having trouble and the Flintstones just ain’t cutting it, try Nutrilite, they have a healthy kids combo vitamin that tastes just like fruit punch!
